Frequently Asked Questions on Vipassana Meditation Course

Do I have to be a Buddhist?

No, you only need an open mind and the intention to give the technique a fair trial.

How can I be sure I am capable of doing the meditation?

For a person who is genuinely interested, meditation (including Noble Silence) is not difficult. If one follows the instructions precisely, one can be sure of tangible results. The daily schedule is neither too severe nor too relaxed but follows the Middle Path. Sayagyi U Ba Khin taught his students to work with "zestful ease". If for some reason you cannot sit on the floor, you can meditate sitting on a chair.

In what language will the meditation course be conducted?

The meditation course is conducted in English. If needed, Mandarin translation will be provided to support students who only speak Mandarin. The teacher is fluent in following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Burmese. Feel free to contact us if Mandarin translation is needed.
