Getting to Metta Lodge via Singapore Airport
Flying into Changi International Airport (SIN), Singapore
The second closest airport to Metta Lodge is Changi International Airport (SIN) Singapore, which is a 90 minutes drive away. Please plan your flight to arrive in Changi Airport before 1pm on the day the course starts, and your return flight should depart after 3pm on the day the course ends. Please e-mail us your flight itinerary once you have booked your flight, so that someone will wait for you at Metta Lodge upon your arrival. Remember to check and obtain the necessary visa for your entry into both Singapore and Malaysia. Your visa for Singapore must be a double-entry visa if you are arriving and departing from Singapore for the course at Metta Lodge.
To go to Metta Lodge from Changi Airport, the organizers can assist in arranging private transport (an MPV) to and from Metta Lodge, if needed. With this arrangement, you will remain in the MPV with your luggage as you pass through the Woodlands (Singapore) and Johor Bahru (Malaysia) immigration checkpoints. The cost of this arrangement will depend on the size of the MPV hired and the number of people sharing this transport:
The smallest Innova MPV, which can accommodate up to 4 passengers with 4 medium sized (22"~24") luggage, or 3 passengers with 3 larger pieces of luggage can be hired for SGD80 for a one-way journey. Larger and more costly MPV can be hired if more space is needed for luggage or passengers, but it usually becomes more economical the more people share an MPV.
There is a shared group pick-up with other students between 2pm and 3pm on the day the course starts, where you will pay a cheaper rate of approximately SGD30 per person. With this arrangement, the MPV can pick you up from any location in Singapore. Hence if you arrive at Singapore early, and you are willing to wait until 2pm for the pick-up, you can join this group pick-up.
